Paediatric Osteopathy: Plagiocephaly, Cranio-Facial Asymmetries and Torticollis
A three-day course about the evaluation with anthropometric measurements and osteopathic treatment for cranio-facial asymmetries and torticollis
13.14.15 MARCH 2026 - REGISTRATION OPEN
Paediatric Osteopathy: Plagiocephaly, Cranio-Facial Asymmetries and Torticollis 2026
The course “Paediatric Osteopathy: Plagiocephaly, Cranio-Facial Asymmetries and Torticollis” is designed to enhance clinical management and intervention planning strategies, while emphasizing awareness of red flags and a comprehensive approach to pediatric care.
Held by Dr Sylvie Lessard Pht, DO, who created this programme as a result of over 22 years of study and clinical practice, this three-day course combines theoretical lectures, practical workshops, and videos, supported by an extensive literature review and case studies, including up to 20 years of patient follow-ups.
Participants will develop competencies in anthropometric measurements and palpation techniques to optimize osteopathic interventions and outcomes. Measurements will serve as objective tools to guide decision-making, provide a clearer understanding of the patient’s condition, and facilitate communication with parents and the medical team. At the end of the course, the pratictioners will further deepen their understanding of craniofacial asymmetries, medical terminology, and best practices for paediatric care within an interprofessional collaboration framework.
The main topics
This three-day course covers the osteopathic evaluation and treatment for cranio-facial asymmetries and torticollis. From the identifucation of clinical signs for early screening to red flags, it will show how to assess these conditions with the anthropometric measurement. It will also analyse how to address neuromotor development, primitive reflexes, oromyofacial dysfunction, and conditions associated with craniofacial asymmetries. It will be clear when the osteopathic treatment is required and how to effectively communicate with the parents and other professionals. The practical sessions will enhance the palpation skills and will present specific essential techniques.
Learning outcomes
• Know how to perform anthropometric measurements (craniometer) and use new technology devices
• Select strategies and techniques based on age, asymmetry type-severity, and torticollis
• Facilitate interprofessional collaboration with goals and intervention priorities
• Understand the biomechanics and the scientific literature guiding the osteopathic approach
• Identify red flags that require medical referral
• Identify clinical characteristics of craniosynostosis
• Enhance presence and palpation skills for specific techniques, including intraosseous, cranial, fascial, soft tissue, and mandibular approach
Registration
The course Paediatric Osteopathy: Plagiocephaly, Cranio-Facial Asymmetries and Torticollis is intended for osteopaths and students of osteopathy from the last year.
All registration forms must be received by Friday 30th January 2026.
